This old character villa was repainted in late 2022 & early 2023. The team carefully removed 80% of the existing coatings, following protocol for removal of lead-based paints.
Stainless steel flat soakers were also installed to all weatherboard joins to protect against water ingress. Soakers or silicone are the best protection against inevitable natural movement of the timber. Regular water-based fillers don't stand up to this movement and cause these joins to open up again in the future. So much work went into this restoration!
The colours were:
- Fascia, soffits, corbel brackets, box corners, window & door frames: Resene Black White
- Weatherboards: Resene Eau De Nil
- Front door: Resene Coast
